36 World Card Making Day AND the Orange Blog Hop!

Woot woot! Two hops, one day!

Check out all the blogs for World Card Making Day here.

For the Fiskateers Orange Blog Hop, if you have come from http://inkblotsbytrd.blogspot.com you are in the right place.  This is a stop on the Orange Blog Hop where members of Fiskateers, a community sponsored by Fiskars, is sharing their passion for crafting.

Today I am sharing a fun little card I made for my niece's upcoming 2nd birthday using my Fiskars trimmer, Epiphany Crafts tools, and some Clearsnap goodies!

For this card I used some KaiserCraft papers that had blocks printed on them. The wire guide on the Fiskars trimmer I used to cut apart the blocks showed me exactly where the blade would cut me paper, allowing for precision cuts with no scissor-trimming needed. I love how much time to accuracy of the Fiskars trimmer saves me!

See how precise those cuts are!! No edges from neighboring papers on my pieces :) I used a ColorBox Chalk Petal Point Option Pad to ink the edges of each piece in a coordinating color.

I created a party hat from a scrap of paper and added Sparkle Fibers to the base of the hat with Clearsnap's Glue Gloss.

I then used three different Epiphany Crafts Shape and Button Studios and matching Bubble Caps and Buttons to create custom embellishments for the card. Even though this card has a generic color scheme, I added some girly elements custom-made for my niece using the Epiphany Crafts Shape and Button Studios.

And here is my final card, ready to give!!

Supplies:
  • Paper - KaiserCraft, October Afternoon, Cosmo Cricket
  • Twine -  The Twinery, Joann's
  • Ribbon, Wood Stick - Unknown
  • Epoxies and Buttons - Epiphany Crafts
  • Ink, Glue Gloss, Sparkle Fibers - Clearsnap
  • Alpha Stickers - My Little Shoebox
Hope you are accomplishing lots this happy holiday :)  I currently have two giveaways on my blog right now--check out my posts on 9-27-11 and 9-29-11 for all the info.
