0 Doodley Scallops

Doodling and Scalloped Borders are nothing new to scrapbooking and they are extra cute when used together! Here's an easy to way to make doodled scalloped borders using only a pen and ruler.

1. Lay the ruler parallel to the element you want the border next to.

2. Draw a line along the length of the element (a photo mat in this case) using the ruler to keep the line straight.

3. Remove the ruler and place it on the other side of the line.

4. Using the pen, draw bumps along the line, bumping into the ruler as you go along. You can draw these slower to make more even scallops or fast for more whimsical scallops.

Here's how it looks on the layout:

Happy Doodling!

2 Oldies but Goodies

Someone on scrapbook.com asked about altered canvases a couple of days ago and I realized I had never uploaded these past class samples to my gallery! I wonder what other sample pics are creeping around on my computer for me to find and finally upload?!

Just for fun, here are two canvas classes I taught in early 2008 at Scrapbook Blvd, a store that used to be in Victorville, CA (now closed).

This is a Tilano Fresco Canvas Kit I taught as a class. The photo is from Cheryl McAdam ;) I used crackle paint from Tim Holtz, HUGE Fancy Pants stamps, and lots of diecut flowers.

This was called "Three's a Charm". I got the mini canvases at Blick Art Supplies (and from my friend PJ). Just a little ink and paint, glue some paper on and accents and there's a fun little home decor item!

Hope you're inspired to create something wonderful today.

Happy Summer!

0 Places I Am Working On

Around my house ;) Here's where I sit on the computer doing blog posts, Facebooking, emailing, and doing my online classes. I love my Michelle Maule print and hope to get some more soon. One day those files won't sit back there behind my monitor ... one day we'll finally be 100% settled here!

And here I set up my fave half round table from Bombay Imports. I am sad they went out of business but Xaver and I got some good deals and are really happy with the stuff we got while they were open here. The table is in a wide part of my hallway at the entrance of my bedroom. I really want to fill the shelves with fun stuff but no ideas yet--do you have an idea?!?

I am slowly framing and hanging some awesome pics Shawn Bumgarner of Gypsy Isle Photography took of my family in 2008 and putting them up over the table. LOVE these pics!

I am hoping to get to work on these projects more over the summer. Are you working on something? Please share a link!!

1 A Few More

So much done last weekend, so much old stuff used up--I gotta share it all!! So here's a few more layouts I created last weekend.

I started this page a few months back -- this weekend I added the journaling, some mesh circles leftover form a class I taught, tickets and flower from Reflections classes, and some punched green labels.

This whole layout is scraps!! Love it ;) I just kind of played around-always fun to try something a little different every once in a while.

I actually did this layout for my Silhouette 102 class at My Creative Classroom. This weekend I added the pics, completed the title, and added the bicycle chipboard sticker and other small stickers in the corner.

A layout created with leftovers from Reflections plus a really old K& Co (I think) journal spot I've had forever!

Katie's science fair project page, using up more oldies! I have had this green May Arts ribbon forever and the strawberries are from a swap I did in 2005 or so for Quickutz Shapes. Alot of this is made from scraps!

Hope you enjoyed a few more of my layouts ;) Also, I wanted to share that yesterday I got the awesome news that I made the Epiphany Crafts Design Team--woohoo! So excited to be able to work with these innovative new tools! I can't wait to show you all the fun stuff they can do ;)

Happy Creating!!
