You might think that making your own Christmas cards is expensive and time consuming but think again! In just under 15 minutes with about $1 worth of supplies I created 6 cute handmade Christmas cards that are sure to wow anyone who receives them. You don't have to buy anything fancy to make a Christmas card for someone special--just use basic tools and supplies from your stash.
You'll need these basic supplies:
- Circle Punch
- Scalloped Circle Punch that is slightly larger than the punch above
- 3D Foam adhesive
- Card Bases x 6 - you can purchase these or make them from 8.5 x11 paper
- 1 sheet of 12 x 12 Christmas patterned paper with a medium sized print
- Baker's Twine
- Christmas stamp & ink
- Scrap Paper in complimentary colors (matching the patterned paper)
- White Pen
- Crystal Stickles glitter glue
- 6 envelopes
Adhere the 5.25" x 4" pieces on the front of each card base. To make your own card base, cut a sheet of 8.5 x11 paper in half to create two 8.5" x 5.5" pieces. Fold in half to create a 4.25" x 5.5" card.
Punch 6 circles from kraft scrap paper and 6 scalloped circles from red scrap paper. Glue the circles in the center of the scalloped circles. Using a white pen, draw an outline inside the kraft paper circle.
From the 1.5" x 4" pieces of paper cut out icons from the patterned paper. This paper has houses on it so I cut out houses.
Ahdere each house to the center of the punched circles using 3D foam adhesive. Adhere to the card front as desired.
Stamp a white scrap of paper with a sentiment ("merry" in this case) and cut out. Adhere to the front of each card. Add baker's twine to make the sentiment look like a tag. Or you can stamp the sentiment directly onto the scalloped circle.
Add Crystal Stickles to the white parts of each icon to make it look like snow. Allow to dry.
